Burney Falls

Burney Falls – Nor Cal’s king of all waterfalls

Wednesday we took the Falls trail – a loop around the falls –

a short, easy hike of about 1.2 miles.

Burney Creek

From the bridge

A side view of the Falls.

Theodore Roosevelt dubbed it the 8th wonder of the world.

Continuing the loop around –

Across the Bridge and back to the parking lot.

Local legend has it that Olympic swimmer Johnny Weissmuller dove off of Burney Falls in one of the first Tarzan films in the 1930s.

No one can substantiate any of that is true –

Debby, these Burney Falls photos are awesome. You should take more pictures, you captured the beauty of the creek and the bridge. I think this is the way that Nel went. I always go the simplest way, and we were fortunate to get a spot right in front of the Falls. Keep taking pictures, you're good at it.~Sheri
