Part time work

Today the husband goes to his new job for 8 hours of training.  He\’ll be working 20 hours or less. He\’ll probably be a floater – fill in as needed, especially now that it\’s summer and vacation time.

They hired him right on the spot – just so happened he knew the interviewer and one of his references is extremely respected there. She also used to work with my husband at CalVet. She was the other person, they forced to retire. She is in her 70\’s.  She is a former nun. Nicest person. It was hurtful what they did to her.

The Veterans Home has gone through some changes. They now have a new administrator – one who is a veteran and knows what she is doing. She has a special bond with them, the others did not.  She is cleaning house! Also, after numerous complaints to CalVet in Sacramento, they did a state investigation on the boss-lady from Hell and the assistant administrator who was also involved in some shady business, along with Boss Lady. The assistant ADMIN mysteriously left. There was no party or announcement that she was leaving. Just GONE. The Boss Lady from Hell is now confined to her office and for the time being, she is not to have anything to do with the employees. My husband, and the former Nun, and a few others my husband worked with, were all called in for depositions and interviews late in 2020 and early this year. We\’re pleased that they actually listened. The union tried but like always, they couldn\’t/wouldn\’t do a thing.

So with most of that behind us, would my husband go back if they offered it to him? There would have to be some conditions – like his pension. They screwed him out of 4 years of his pension. Those 4 years we planned for. But he has a bad heart and the stress was not good for him. He needs a fairly stressless job and this part-time one should fit the bill.

Sad that Cal Vet, that homes our elderly veterans, and who use to prefer hiring veterans, treated my husband who was a 20 year veteran like a piece of garbage. No respect and they forced him out of the larger pension we had planned for.

Oh well, life isn\’t fair and we live on.

That's sad about how the veteran's and employees have been treated. Well, what goes around comes around, I always say. And it sounds like that's happening right now. May those that have practiced wickedness repent that they may be saved. And I pray that the new part-time job is nice and they treat your Hubby well. God is turning what was garbage into a blessing. He is good!Blessings. xx

No, this was not fair.I am glad they found out about the bad ones, and have been taking care of that. This new part time job, is it at the veterans home?

I know of story after story of miserable worthless bosses who somehow are able to slide along in their incompetance unnoticed while they ruin the lives of good employees along the way. Miserable rotten people who really deserve to be jailed as much any criminal. THese people can be found by their ability to kiss the asses above them while kicking the asses below. I've known a few. The only good thing is the ones I've known I know were also miserable themselves.

It is a shame the many good and decent employees that left due to these 2 bosses not to mention all the pain and suffering and downright stress from it all.
