Lost dog, Happy ending

Last night we found this dog hanging around –

He is an old dog, with cataracts and he was thirsty and afraid.

We put him in our backyard and were prepared to keep him overnight as it was about 10:30 pm. I posted on the NextDoor app – and within minutes his dad came and got him. His name is Dakota and he lives just down the street from us. My husband said he looked familiar…

So we both went to bed, feeling good about it. Laydee was a naughty girl when he was in our backyard. She tore the hem out of my curtains and pulled out the hook in the wall that holds my tiebacks. She was scratching at the door – whining.

See, Laydee is Very territorial. She will act very aggressive if a dog is in her yard, house, where ever she deems \”her territory.\”

She has played with Dakota in the field near us – and there she is fine and behaves.

Susie was freaked out too, running from window to window…and doing her Steven King spooky meow.

It would have been a very restless night had Dakoka stayed the night…

DOgs do not like their routine changed do they…matter of fact, neither do I. I don't chew curtains though.

These animals, they know they belong. I'm glad Dakota's owner came quickly. Laydee and Susie was going to make it a long night. I found a dog several months ago and put him in a kennel. My dogs kept opening the kennel and letting him out. Luckily the dog had a chip and was reunited with his owners.

I have tried to keep strays in our office until the owners could be found and my dogs felt the same way about the invasion. Good thing the owner came right over.
