Graves and Fences

Let\’s see…what can this brain of mine come up with to talk about…

I mentioned Find a Grave a few posts ago, for people who might not ever see their loved ones\’ graves, so others who live in the area will take photos – I have not yet driven down to Sacramento to see Nina\’s grave. So I requested a photo from someone in the area. I received an email, stating that they tried to but was run off by security. Only family members or those approved by the family, can visit the cemetery. So we\’ll have to plan to drive down next month. I hope they let us in. I will call ahead of time to make sure. Since it is a Muslim cemetery, they must get subjected to a lot of hate so they have to be super careful who they are letting in. Sad it has to be that way.

I had mentioned on my other blog, that the husband will be installing a new fence – 3 sections on our side yard. He\’s been cutting back the bushes to where it will be easier for him. While doing so, our neighbor, Mark came out and the husband told him he would be replacing the fence. We already knew Mark was not going to cough up his half because he told us a few years back, that it was \”our problem.\”  But when the husband told him, he could have just said something nicer than,

\”Knock yourself out, Buddy.\”

Boy that made me mad. A simple, \”Thanks for letting me know.\” would have been nicer. He has 2 little dogs – but no, he has to make a snide remark. What a jerk. The thing is his wife is nice. She told me years ago, her husband was cheap. Other than that, he is a good neighbor even if he\’s a jackass.

We\’re supposed to get some rain – maybe tonight and through the weekend. We need it. It hasn\’t rained here in a couple of months. We\’ve already had to use the AC and usually, it\’s not until May when I first run that money hog. I\’m expecting a long HOT and dry summer once again and yes, there will be fires.

The neighbor could at least have offered to help build the fence. My sister who had a stroke was under the impression that all these people who gave advice would come help her when she returned to her house. One thing that is hard to witness is her having to relearn what people really do. I know there are a lot of good people in this world. I know you are a good person from what you write. But, there is a darkness to many people that is bitter to accept.

I'm glad you think Mark is a good neighbor otherwise. He sounds like a jerk. It is sad about the Muslim cemetery. Love,Janie

It's dry here too. No rain in I don't know how long. What a jackass is right. if he's not going to chip in for the cost of the fence at least offer to help with the labor. Cheap, lazy and a jackass. Oh well, at least he's a good neighbor so there's that.

I've used FaG for genealogy research too. It's a great site as long as contributors only add actual gravesites and not any \”burial unknown\”'s. Those make a mess to be sure. Thankfully, FaG discourages that and will delete them when found. That's a shame the neighbor has an attitude problem. I'm grateful to live way out in the country where we don't have to deal with folks like that. I do pick up the litter trails The Great Unwashed leave behind. I feel sorry for them and always say a prayer that God will soften their hearts and teach them to be kind. I try to be a good neighbor. Hope I am. Hope your day is blessed! xx

He's a good neighbor in the sense, he doesn't do anything that is bothersome to us, other than he's a cheap jerk. LOL
