So much fun!

I\’m telling you – I am getting to be a broken-down old hag of a woman,  that needs an overhaul. From top to bottom. Monday I go into the podiatrist for a procedure on my 2 big toes (OUCH!) and then Wednesday, I go into the Dental College for my Periodontal deep cleaning. It will take them 2 separate days.

Lord willing, I should be done with all my \”repairs.\” so I can get on the road again.

Yesterday I went and was expecting the regular cleaning but I have low/moderate periodontal disease. I\’m losing bone that holds the tooth in the gum. Kinda upset me because my teeth are gorgeous.  Some girls had beautiful hair, figures, etc. I had nice white, straight – teeth and no cavities. (Just goes to show, you can\’t tell a book by its cover) I do have a couple of crowns and they are the source of the problem. I got those done about 25 years ago and ever since I have had issues with my gums.

And another thing – they couldn\’t start on the cleaning because I had knee surgery and need a pre-med BEFORE the cleaning procedure. I had no idea that this would be an issue every time I have my teeth cleaned but it makes sense. My timing in all of this is off – I was prescribed through my podiatrist, an anti-biotic that I started taking today and will finish a day or two after Monday. I don\’t know if that would work or if I need another one. The whole thing gives me a headache.

The mix-up is, I called my surgeon\’s office and asked them for the pre-med for the cleaning. They said I need to get that from my dentist. Surgeons don\’t write scripts for dentistry.  I told them this was at the college – I do not have a dentist yet. So I don\’t know…I may end up having to see a periodontist and pay outright for it all, but it has to be done.

I\’ve always had good teeth and dental health.

It\’s a good thing I\’m not a horse or they\’d probably shoot me.

Ha! This getting older is no picnic. I also always had good teeth, and lately have been having more issues. Not periodontal yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

Worrisome about the pre-med. I hope it works out that the med for the podiatrist works for the periodontist. I'm in the same boat. I can tell you when it is going to rain.

Morning DebbyLOL….Your opening lines had me literally laughing because I feel the same way..Maybe call your regular doctor, tell him the deal and Im sure he would write you or call you in a antibiotic so you can go to the dentist.. I hope you have a good day today!

You're not alone This stuff happens to me sometimes and I am sure lots of others. I always say life can get so complicated. Everything will all work out in the end. I have had surgery on both of my big toes. Thankfully I can walk now without pain shooting up like an electric shock. It was arthritis in the joints.of the big toe. Apparently it came from trauma to my toes. Too many Jane Fonda workouts. Back in the 80s Lol who knew?
