Walked across the Sundial Bridge to the Sacramento River. the other day.
The oaks are pollinating. Don\’t stare.
Took a walk through the trails – Young people out on their bikes and those electric scooters, you rent. I was almost hit by one. That could have really been bad but it was a young boy – he didn\’t mean it. I just need to be more careful in situations like that. It would have injured anyone, not just me.
These scooters are everywhere – they even have them in my subdivision just hanging out on the corner.
No one wears a helmet. They just pop on them and go. I haven\’t tried one yet. The husband and I keep meaning to rent a couple (from an app on your phone) and drive them around a parking lot just to get the feel before taking it to the street.
We no longer have a bus service near us. They discontinued it. So seniors are having to either walk and where I am at, there are no sidewalks outside our subdivision – and to get to the shopping area, you have to cross a very skinny bridge with no sidewalk. Basically, you look behind you and run across.
I do miss not being able to walk to the store. I mean I can, but it\’s dangerous on those country roads. I\’ve dodged a few vehicles before. My luck will eventually run out. Just yesterday I heard of a man riding a gasoline-powered bicycle was hit by a woman texting on her cell phone. He was killed.
Maybe these people who text and drive, or drive too fast need to get out away – and relax and take in the natural beauty and stop being in such a dangerous rush.
They ruin it for many who just want to take life a bit slower.
