The Dreaded 2nd Dose

So far so good. It\’s been 7 hours. I did take a nap today – was feeling sleepy even after a really good night\’s rest. The husband is fine, too. He did say he woke up last night sweating but that was it. He\’s back today doing heavy-duty gardening; cutting down branches and pulling weeds.
For me, the anticipation is worse than the actual shot. Well, I might be speaking too soon. I still have tonight to get through.
I always like to think I can manage it by just refusing to have any reaction – a game I used to play from when I was a kid. I thought I could just will myself NOT to get sick. Like Pops always said,
\”I\’m too mean and ornery to get sick.\”
That worked for 94 years.
I don\’t like being sick – I\’d rather give birth to 10 lb twins while having a knee replacement than have nausea and flu-like symptoms. I am a big baby when I get that, I admit it.
I might \”milk\” this for today and do some take-out.
Stay tuned for t o m o r r o w.

10 pound twins while having a knee replacement, huh? I always say I'd rather give birth in the middle of a busy street with no pain meds than…whatever I am comparing. I hope you do fine! I think I'm getting the one shot J&J on Saturday, and I'm more than a teeny bit anxious about it…we've had Covid in our house, but I didn't get sick…do I already have immunity? There are no clear cut answers…

You might be thinking differently if you were pushing out 10 lb. twins right about now. LOL! Hopefully you didn't experience any really bad symptoms from the 2nd dose. Glad your husband is feeling okay. These vaccines are a pain in the butt, but unfortunately something most of us will be getting sooner or later.
