We might get some snow

The weather is changing – We\’ve had spring-like temps – my daffodils are blooming but there is a chill in the air. Sometime tonight, temps are supposed to drop drastically and low elevation snow is on its way to the valley floor.
The last time we had a big unexpected snowstorm it literally crippled our town. Everything stopped for a few days. They called it Snowmageddon. Some who are on PGE had their power out for close to 2 weeks; long after the snow had melted. I am on the city electric grid – PGE for my gas and all was fine except for maybe 4 hours in the morning. It was fun. My husband had to actually shovel our driveway – a snow shovel my sister gave us when they left Colorado. We may only have to use it once every few years but it was worth having plus my husband had a blast out there.
Regardless if we get snow or buckets of rain, it will be fun to actually have some real weather. It gets boring having the same weather, day after day.  In the bay area, and even up here we do have our seasons – but not according to the rest of the country. I just recognize our Fall weather. I know what a California winter looks like. Always in between these cycles, we sometimes go for stretches at a time, with mild temps and sunshine. I enjoy having a dose of winter when it is winter.
So now there is a buzz around town and in the neighborhood –
\”Hey, you hear? we might get some snow?\”

\”Are you ready?\”

The husband went out to buy some insolation for the outside pipes – We\’ll pull the potted Queen Anne Palm closer to the eves of the house. Right now it is like a refrigerator outside but the sun is shining. I hope those meteorologists don\’t let us down. We ALWAYS need the rain.

You have daffodils? So cheerful. I hope it doesn't snow on them.

My neighbor wrapped my pipes with rags that he had and secured them with tape. They use the bird houses here to cover the pipes so they don't freeze. That's smartof your husband to get the essentials to wrap the pipes. : ) I am learning new thingsevery day living in the snow.~Sheri
