Frustrated and ANGRY

On Nov. 23 I emailed the Ombudsman for Child Protective Services and NOTHING. Today I called and of course, I had to leave a message. It\’s IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with anybody in the flesh. From CPS to even Social Security – Their message starts off with the \”Due to Covid19\”. This is really getting old.
My husband and I are starting to consider Guardianship over those children. It\’s not what we WANT to do, but to keep them from leaving the state and going up to Washington to stay with their father\’s family is just out of the question for me. I\’ll lose them forever if that should happen. Granted I may be rushing and it may not even come to this but when I am not in the information loop, I feel left out, and it\’s frustrating.
. . . . . . . . . .
Pop was discharged from the hospital and is now back at the Veterans Home. The Docter told us, that he didn\’t believe there will be much change due to where the stroke was in his brain. He is left-handed and it is his left side where the weakness is. We talked with the social worker at the Home, who is also a friend – she suggests we do Comfort Care. This program aims to ease pain and help with his other problems but not considered to be life-threatening. for now. If an illness makes it harder to work, play, get around or causes depression, comfort care/palliative care can address that, too. This way, they would allow us in to see him as long as we gown up, etc. I believe this is a great way to go – today he is sleeping so sound, they are having a hard time waking him, which could be a matter of concern. Either he is just so relieved to be back in his own bed and he\’s sleeping it all off or he\’s depressed and starting to go under.
They are also looking to vaccinate all the Veterans by the end of this month, which would help.
We are keeping mum about the adult protective services report from the hospital. Even with our friend. My husband wants it to be a complete surprise.
 . . . . . . . . . . .

As so the social security glitch – they told us we would be paid for Jan 2021. So at least we know this. It\’s not settled yet. It is a month by month issue.
And to think the majority of Americans want MORE GOVERNMENT intervention in our lives and the lives of our family. Yeah great until you have a family emergency and all you can do is leave a phone message.
