COVID19 – We\'re getting hit hard

When will this covid19 nightmare go away?  For most of the year, we had very little outbreak. Mid October it hit and it has not let up. We\’re in the purple which is the strictest tier. The rural counties are now getting hit hard.
Tomorrow we were supposed to have a car parade around the Veterans Home for 30 minutes. We stay in our vehicles, and they watch from the comfort of inside. The Governor canceled it. Can anyone explain the logic to that? They are safe INSIDE. We are in our Vehicles – not allowed to get out, just drive around and honk and wave. So disappointing because I know Pops was looking forward to it. IT was for the families – you have to go through security. It\’s not like they would be letting just anybody inside the gates. I don\’t agree with this at all.

The \”things that make me go Hmmm\” gets worse. I\’m noticing it all the time. Like, right now all breweries are closed, but wineries are open at 25%. What\’s the difference? You can go in for a body wax if it is done OUTSIDE. They even have guidelines for Dogwalkers. Festivals are closed but the Farmer\’s markets are packed with people. Massage therapy can open inside at 25%. Hmmm, but you have to have your body waxed outside?  Body Piecering shops and Tattoo Parlors can open inside at 25%. What does the state of California have against the Body Wax Salons?
Small private gatherings Are allowed outdoors with modifications –

Masks and physical distancing required –
No more than 3 separate households attend (including the host’s) –
Gatherings should be 2 hours or less –
Those with symptoms must not attend –
Those at high risk of severe illness strongly encouraged not to attend –
Singing, shouting, chanting, or exercising strongly discouraged.
There go the dysfunctional family arguments that happen every holiday in some homes. They could be arrested – not for the domestic dispute but for shouting!
That is why some people, are just fed up and so they are not complying. Probably why we are seeing a surge – mostly young people are spreading it to their elders, and then Grandma and Grandpa die.

Our numbers jumped a lot in the last few weeks. Over 3400 cases today. I foresee schools going back to online learning and gyms being closed. People are doing good wearing their masks and trying to keep distant so I don't get what is happening with the cases going up.Sorry the parade was cancelled. Shame because it sounded like it was being done responsibly.betty
