I can do this – we can do this

Dr. L\’s office told me it would be February before they could set up an appointment. If my primary Doctor wrote something in the referral, that says he thinks it is urgent then they would get me in right away. The gal there at the front desk, couldn\’t say one way or another. I guess the good news would be, if I have to wait, then it\’s not serious.
I joined a group and asked them -and many had to wait for 12 mos. I guess us aging Baby Boomers are flooding the specialists in all areas of the medical field these days. Argh, I am the type of person that wants answers NOW. This will be hard for me. I\’m going to have to keep busy and just try and put it out of my mind – Live FULLY instead of just living. I can do this, I can do this. I\’m just happy they finally have the referral and it is in process. That is a relief.
Meanwhile – there is LIFE out there and I want to get on with it. Enough of the doom and gloom.

I will just briefly say, I am so sick of it all. It hasn\’t been helping my anxiety whatsoever. Even my husband is breathing heavily and it\’s not from looking at me. I keep telling him to RELAX. With all this health stuff going on with me, the election and politics sure have been knocked down a peg or two, or three. It\’s important, yes but I have other things on my mind. It will work out and we\’ll just have to live with it. We can do this.

Out of curiosity, how many of you who voted in person, we\’re told you had to use a sharpie pen? That was a first for us. I questioned them about it and they said it was fine. Then after I filled out the ballot, it bled through the other side – I asked again and 2 poll workers came over to shush me – (I wasn\’t mad or loud or anything so that was a bit over the top for them to come over to me and shushing me) They ASSURED me, all was fine – that the machine can still read it.
Years passed, they would tear off a receipt that was at the top of the ballot – didn\’t get that this year.
We stood there and watched the machine suck our ballot into only God knows where – They are still counting votes here in our rural county yet Arizona was called the night of the election?
California just doesn\’t count in Presidential elections. Ok, so they are the anticipated, Pot Of Gold, that puts the nail in the coffin but it\’s not any fun here. We sit here and yawn…in years past, they have even called the elections before California, Hawaii, and Alaskan polls have closed.
California propositions, all came back favoring Conservatives, except for one. We\’re going to allow Felons to vote. Not surprising. I\’ve never understood, how California is very Liberal in voting but we mostly vote Conservatively on the Propositions. EXCEPT if it has to do with law and order.
Yikes, I guess I wasn\’t too \”brief\” was I?

Maybe?  Kinda sorta? We\’ve enjoyed mid 80\’s all week and today our high is supposed to be in the \’60s. Looks promising for the next 10 days. The forecasted rain, but it never came here in the valley. They are predicting snow in the higher elevations this weekend.
All in all, I am in a better \”headspace\” than I was before. At least I know, it is pending. The office gal told me I could call every week, to check on my referral status. So, I plan to just look ahead and plan my Thanksgiving with my family that can come. Navy is legally bound by the State of California, to not go to outside homes for the holidays due to him being a State Worker. We would not do anything to jeopardize that for him.

See of the doctor's office has a wait list that they can put you on and move your appointment up if they have a cancellation . I don't know what happened to Arizona. I am so disappointed it went blue. It was amazing though how soon it was called. We used a black pen to fill in the little ovals. I had asked hubby afterwards if he thought a Sharpie would have been quicker to fill them in. Now I'm glad we didn't use them. We could also use our own pens if we brought them (we didn't) as long as it was blue or black ink. Red would not read the ballot (so they say). betty

Yes I am on a waiting list. They also told me to call them once a week to see where I am at.

Sometimes I need to remind me that I can do this, because doing anything is so very hard

I am still waiting for my surgery, soon it will be two years. Hopefully the cells haven't changed. In Canada, people in prison can vote as they are citizens. God bless.
