X-ray results – Next step

The doctor just called and first asked me if I ever have smoked.  I told him, never, and then he said they found some scarring on my lungs. I have to say I was shocked but then again not surprised. Just walking down the hallway this morning had me a bit dizzy and fatigued to where I had to sit down. That\’s not normal for me.  So the next step would be to see a Pulmonologist – which my Doctor will arrange – I\’ll hold tight till I hear from them. Around here, it\’s not like when I was living in the Bay Area. If I don\’t hear anything in a week, I will have to call again. That\’s the drawback of living in a rural area. If push comes to shove, I could go down to Sacramento. We\’ll see.
Good thing I did go to the Doctor. I am sure the smoke around here didn\’t help either.  I\’m not going to freak out about it. I\’m just glad I will be getting it checked out and dealt with. It can\’t be that bad – I haven\’t been losing any weight.
Just another new life experience for me. Fun.

I wonder if the scarring occurred because of the smoke from fires.God bless.

Not that I'm an expert with it, but I think pneumonia can also scar the lungs. Ever have that? Best to get it checked out and not worry too much about it in the process.betty

Scarring isn't good but something showing is a start better then being told everything looks normal and it feels like it's not

Hopefully I will be able to find out – put it this way, it sure didn't help.

Yeah, from what I have read many things can scar the lungs. I have read that GERD is a possibility and if that is true, I'm a goner!

True. That's why I was shocked when the doctor acknowledged the scarring. I really didn't think anything would show up.

Yeah, just goes to show, how fragile we really are – even when we feel so tough.
