I survived the first dose of Shingrix

Whiskeytown Lake

Yesterday we took the dog to one of the lakes we live near – and let Laydee swim. No one was there; Just a lone sailboat on the water. So quiet and I could hear the geese –   This is where we had our 2018 Carr Fire ad you can see all the bareness on the mountains, that used to be heavily forested with tall beautiful trees.  My sons say they don\’t want to go back – but I love it there. There are areas that still have trees. Plus nothing has changed the lake or the creeks or waterfalls. They are still there. Now we just have to find the beauty that is still there.  It will take at least 30-40 years for the trees and I\’ll be dead by the time it springs up again. I will continue to enjoy it.

SHINGRIX

With the exception of a sore arm for 36 hours. I no longer feel any soreness. The next dose is Dec 7 and I will arm myself (excuse the pun) with extra strength Tylenol and I will apply a lidocaine pain patch for 2 days. I can do this!

Today is a GLORIOUS day. About 79-80 so I cut down the big sunflowers I had in my yard. Some of the stems were as thick as a broom handle.

So happy you did not have the same experience I did. But then again my immune system is trashed by the drugs I take for arthritis.

I'm sorry you had to go through all of that – I guess there was no way around it. I'm happy it was fairly mild. Stay tuned for Dec.
