This and that and some updates.

Today I received my flu shot. Next week I go in for that shingles shot. Fortunately, I don\’t have any bad reactions to vaccines like so many other people do. Until I do, I\’m good. The only \”reaction\” I have had and it goes for any shot is a sore lump on my arm. I should say I used to have that. The secret that works for me is I take 2 Tylenol a couple of hours before and I have no bruising or soreness like I used to have. I also make sure I dangle my shot arm, to make sure it is thoroughly relaxed.

A few years back I would go in once a year for a cortisone shot. It worked fine for a couple of years but then I noticed it didn\’t last as long plus I would get a slight fever, red rosy cheeks as well as feeling sleepy. Then I find out how cortisone shots on my knees actually made them worse.

So no more of them for me.

Tomorrow evening we will be observing Sukkot with friends. (Feast of Tabernacles)

Sukkot commemorates the years that the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land, and celebrates the way in which God protected them under difficult desert conditions. Sukkot is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, or the Feast of Booths.

Pops is the one with the mismatched clothing – holding the red ball. This was taken just after we talked with him this morning. It was posted on the Veterans Home Facebook page. I appreciate that they share photos throughout the day with us. Talked with him via video chat this morning. It just gets harder and harder to communicate with him. Sometimes he doesn\’t hear us – because he deliberately doesn\’t put his hearing aids in. Today we just showed him the cat and dog playing – he enjoyed that.

The facility that Foodie works at has had a major outbreak of Corona. They\’ve had several deaths. 43 residents and 8 employees.  We are in the Moderate stage and we might have to go to the Substantial Stage, which could close us all back up again.

My God, when will this end?

The Zogg fire is at 55,303 Acres with a 26% containment.

Today it\’s 106 and it\’s smoky; it looks like fog.

Social security contacted us to tell us they are investigating and we will be getting paid for this month and November. So that\’s good.

Other than all of the above, it\’s the usual around here.

Fire and a pandemic, things can only get better.

I got my flu shot and shingles on the same day. The arm that got the shingles shot was sore for six days. Good excuse not to do yard work.

It will never end. It will be here in one form or another just like the flu. Every year there will be a vaccine for it. That's my prediction. It may get better but it will never completely go away. Glad that Social Security is investigating; hope the investigation works out to your advantage.betty
