A fairly good week ahead.

Just another day in paradise. It could be worse. I remember back in 2018 with the Carr Fire here and the Camp Fire down in Paradise, our AQI was through the roof. I heard on the radio, we might have a small chance for some rain on Friday! That would be wonderful.

The week looks promising though – the husband goes in to see the podiatrist regarding his toe to see if it has healed correctly. It\’s been 6-7 weeks. Who would have known a toe takes longer to heal than a knee replacement! I\’m not being facetious – it does. Those little bones in the toe help to support your weight when you stand and walk. Toes are more important than I ever thought. So we are hoping for the best and back to being able to do things – like walking around Home Depot and working together in the yards. It\’s no fun, with him inside sitting watching TV while I slave away in the yard. Actually, between the high heat and the smoke, I haven\’t been out there to work in weeks. We need to get out and clean up before the rainy season. I told him if the Doctor gives him the okay – we\’ll go out to eat at Olive Garden.

I haven\’t heard back from Foodie about his COVID-19 test, so no news is good news. His best friend, who has it, says so far he\’s had a fever, chills and has lost his sense of taste and smell and his chest feels congested. That could also be from the smoke. I am coughing and my chest is congested as well – it\’s allergies and the smoke from the fires. We have 2 air purifiers machines in the house. I think we need one in every room. Plus next year, I want to have my HVAC ductwork cleaned out. When the AC kicks on, I smell ash and dust. The smoke and ash are not good for our system and for that matter not good for our vehicles.

My bad hair cut makes me so angry when I look at myself in the mirror. She totally did not do what I asked her to do. I already put a lot of money on this bad haircut – but to fix it, I might as well, go to the local Beauty college – and have a student cut it. I know I know, it may seem risky. Not really though. The instructor is always there and I\’ve surprisingly have had some of my best cuts and perms at local beauty schools. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are senior days – the cut and shampoo are only $4.00. They also do pedicures and mani\’s as well.

I hope to do some baking this week – maybe a cake and some cookies.

I need to go back to the gym – and get myself into a routine. I went once last week and that was it. That\’s not going to work. I have allowed myself to get into a funk. I need to work my way out of it.

Rosh Hashanah is Friday and we are invited to our friend\’s home for dinner. So that is something to look forward to.

I hope your week looks promising to you, too.

Debby, I have been craving Olive Garden lately. So glad you plan of going there just for a treat. That really is awful about the fires and all the smoke in your area.I do hope your husband's toe has healed nicely, and that was interesting to readabout the toes and all the weight put on them while walking. We never realizethat when we walk around. I hope you get some rain to clean everything out.I'm hoping we get some here too. : )~Sheri

I'm sorry about the bad air quality. I hope you get that rain. Our little toes, we ask so much of them. I trust your husband's heal properly and get back to business. Wishing you a great week.

Wow, I can't believe it has been all that time since your husband's toe injury! The time (for me) has gone by fast. Hope he gets a good report! Definitely an outing to Olive Garden will be great for the two of you! I heard someone in Oregon was having a lot of issues with sore throat, runny nose, itchy eyes, etc. from the fires there. We are cooling down so that's a good thing!betty
