Facelift for the old Blog

I used this photo for my background photo – taken by my son, Foodie on the old Diestelhorst Bridge on the Sacramento river, looking west. It is serene there and in the Fall, it\’s very pretty.
People use the bridge for photo shoots, weddings – It used to be a vehicle bridge built in 1915. Now it is pedestrian bridge.
There is another bridge on the other side for vehicles.
We\’re waiting on our van – I do not enjoy being without wheels even though we\’re not going anywhere. It\’s just knowing we are homebound. We only have the 1 vehicle. It works for us. The only time it is an issue, is if he takes it camping and I am left without. I just stock up on what I need and if I need anything I can call Navy or Sara. It\’s just silly for us to spend the extra money on insurance and gas when 90% of the time it just sat in the garage. I\’d love to get a moped.
The husband has a bicycle, that is just a 1 speed with foot brakes. He plans to put a small motor on it. The kits are around $100.
I don\’t \”bicycle\” due to my lower back (L3L4) are blown and the up and down motion, kills me and then I start \”clicking.\” Unless I used a recumbent bicycle. That is what I use at the gym for my knee. Still have to be careful not to overdue my lower back.
Naw, I\’d rather have a cute little moped.

What a beautiful photo and bridge!.. That water looks incredibly peaceful… We only have one car as well and I'm usually only without when my husband goes fishing, which like you, I don't like knowing I don't have a vehicle here if I need one but he's usually not gone for too long. We just make sure to schedule appointments etc on different days… I would LOVE to ride a moped but I\”m a little scared. I can't be so uncoordinated at times and my luck I'd crash and break my neck…LOL

Debby, I'd rather have a moped also. Less work than a bicycle. Your son takes beautiful photos and it appears that you don't live too far from where I am..Thanks for your visit to me..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy

I still have the car I bought in 2008 when I retired. It only has 48,000 miles on it. I thought about getting a Vespa just to run quick errands. Then I watched the drivers around here and said 'Uh, no'. Most of my retired neighbors are down to just one car.
