Going to the movies and eating out

Hmmm, so this is what retirement is all about? Lately, we are eating out at least once or twice a week. We\’ve also gone to a couple of movies. I guess we\’ll settle down. It\’s like our new TOY. We just have so much time – plus the weather has been cold and you know how it is after Christmas. From Jan to about mid-March, it\’s BORING. Once we can get into the yard and start gardening, we\’ll be in Heaven! I already bought some gardening gloves and a new container to put strawberries in.
It\’s not that we are lazy – but we still have our tree up – without ornaments. Just the naked tree and lights. I still have some decorations on my kitchen window sill. We just do a little each day.

Since my kid is getting married in February, we are getting everybody ready and that includes my 93-year-old father-in-law. We had asked the home, to try on his suit to see if it fits. OMG, it\’s too small. He will need at least a 44 x 29 pants and I don\’t even know if they make a 5 X jacket. The thickest part of his abdomen is 60 inches. Now that\’s him sitting down in his wheelchair. He doesn\’t look that big to me – I guess I am just used to him. So the husband has his work cut out, trying to find a decent suit for his dad to wear for the wedding.

I just ordered my dress. I\’m not a fancy person anymore. Give me camo, boots, and a fishing vest and I am good to go! However, that just won\’t do, for my son\’s wedding. Mom is going to have to \”pretty myself\” up. I had to send the dressmaker my measurements. OH my, they aren\’t what they used to be. I totally destroyed the evidence. NO ONE ever needs to know. That\’s between me and the dressmaker. I need to buy shoes, which are going to be hard. Like I said, I enjoy boots in the winter.

The kids are going to Hawaii for 10 days. That will be nice. We\’re supposed to go to Chef Gordon Ramsey\’s new restaurant in Lake Tahoe just before their wedding. Hells Kitchen at Harvey\’s. I made reservations back in October when they first announced the new opening. All we need is a hotel room.

Hi Debby 🙂 I think that dress is very nice, I'm with you on the camo though. Actually I spend most of my time in pj's!

Weddings make us want to look our best, when I lost my licence I found myself with a lot more time on my hand, it took some getting used to

Retirement sounds nice, Debbie. And your son is getting married this month, that's wonderful. Your dress is stylish – I like how it flows at the bottom. Enjoy your retirement, and wishing you good days in February.~Sheri

Hi Debbie, just wanted to let you know that I visited your other blog, From My House, and commented, but they are not showing up. Your house is charming, and I think I'll like visiting this blog as well, as home is special to me. You will do fine at the wedding. I got my dress at Macy's also, and Yes, it was good when my daughters' weddings were over and everything went Ok. I hope February is being good to you.~Sheri
